Hermes 区分 secrets 与 config：📖 docs 明确 "Secrets → .env. Everything else → config.yaml"。但 🧪 实际观察到 config.yaml 中也常包含 api_key 字段（如 host 中 model.api_key），这是一个潜在的重复配置点。

2.3 SOUL.md — Personality 文件

路径：~/.hermes/SOUL.md

📖 官方文档："Primary agent identity"，是 system prompt 的 slot #1。Hermes 只从 $HERMES_HOME 加载，不读 cwd。

机制：

文件不存在 → 自动创建默认模板（永不覆盖已有）
文件为空/不可读 → fallback 到 built-in 默认 identity
内容（去 comment 后）原样注入 prompt slot #1
14 个 built-in personalities：helpful, concise, technical, creative, teacher, kawaii, catgirl, pirate, shakespeare, surfer, noir, uwu, philosopher, hype
自定义 personalities 在 agent.personalities.<name>: "..." 中定义
与 AGENTS.md（项目约定）和 /personality（会话级 overlay）区分

实验验证（🧪）：host ~/.hermes/SOUL.md 是 537 字节的注释模板（未定制），由 user 后续编辑启用。

2.4 MCP Servers — 嵌入 config.yaml

📖 Hermes 没有独立的 MCP 文件。所有 MCP 配置都在 config.yaml 的 mcp_servers: 块下。Hermes 根据字段存在性推断 transport：

⚠️ agent-box 复制模板到 profile 时，应避免携带这些 .bak.* 文件，或显式列出 ignore 规则。

2.9 Schema 版本化

📖 hermes config migrate 会自动添加缺失的配置项。hermes doctor 会报告 "Config version outdated (v0 → v28)" 提示用户升级。
